About Maeve

From Galway, Maeve graduated from the University of Ulster in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. She is a member of the Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute ( – the professional body for qualified Dietitians in Ireland.

After graduating, she went on to work in two UK hospitals and has spent the last ten years working as a Senior Dietitian in one of the leading University Hospitals in Ireland - St. Vincent's University Hospital, Dublin. Maeve has provided nutrition and dietetic care to a wide range of medical and surgical, hospital and community clients over the past 12 years. Maeve has recently returned to her home town Galway with her husband Andy and twin boys Eoin and Dillon.She has now established a Nutrition and Dietetic Consulting Service in Suite 30 in the Galway Clinic. Maeve sees people referred from GPs and from specialist consultants and also takes appointments from the general public in need of nutrition or dietetic advice. Maeve is also a specialist in Diabetes care and has advised and educated hundreds of people of all ages with type 1 and type 2 Diabetes, resulting in significant improvements to their health.

Maeve has collaborated on health related initiatives with both public and private institutions such as The Diabetes Federation of Ireland, The Irish Heart Foundation, Superquinn and Special Olympics Ireland as well as publishing articles in clinical journals and national health magazines.

Maeve is passionate about providing advice and education in a way that is specific, useful and interesting to every group or individual. She is very experienced in dealing with a wide variety of people and has a warm attentive nature which makes her very effective in tailoring her approach to the needs of each person so that they achieve their goals in their health and wellbeing.
